SBL is good.
I’ve been enjoying Damian Erskine’s BassEducation series.
I just wish I could make myself go through it methodically instead of “well, I have no songs to learn or parts to work up, so I’ll jump in BassEducation for a bit”-style. It’s a really good program

Thanks for posting this. I just started working on walking bass with my teacher and this looks like an outstanding compliment.
I've been a member at SBL and have done a few courses from other sites. All have something to offer, but frankly, I found my motivation ebbed and flowed, too. I pretty much did the same thing - if I wasn't working on a song or something else, I'd watch a video or two. For me, having a teacher works best, then using the on-line material to enhance or compliment what I'm doing with the instructor.
Thanks for the replies to date, tbh right now I am opposite to you guys as I feel I need structure to my practice. I find myself hopping around all over the show, all good stuff, but I know with a structured approach I will achieve more.

Yes, Talking bass is good. I’ve been a member of SBL and Talking bass. Both have good points but Talking bass gets to the point quickly and I like the way he explains things. SBL has a lot (a real lot) of content and now the Pathways and Players Path make it more structured, but there can be a lot of waffle in Scot’s content. Both are worth the money though. The motivation to make it pay off is up to you though. That’s why I stuck with a face to face teacher - accountability is a great motivator!
I'd vote with Mark at Talking Bass every day of the week.

Scott's Bass Lessons. I've been playing bass since age 12, took all manner of music theory classes, and have been playing professionally since age 15... and I still find something interesting in SBL's (free) videos. He's an excellent teacher and person
+1 on Ariane Cap's training courses — I've found her approach to be very helpful in cultivating fundamental skills that can be built upon.

I much prefer Talkingbass to SBL. Clear and to the point without all the fluff and distractions.
For the last two years or so, I’ve gotten a lot out of Greg’s Bass Shed and his YouTube channel.

I think that you have to distinguish between bass education and bass entertainment. I will have a much better time getting entertained by witty antics and fluffy interviews with bass celebrities, but that doesn't teach me what I need to know to be a good and competent bass player. I think that TAB is a waste of time and any teacher that uses it as opposed to teaching you bass clef reading, is stealing your money. I know this isn't popular, but it's true.
I always recommend private lessons with a pro teacher that will teach you using written music is the best environment for learning. It will not be the cheapest.
