Best online canadian retailer?

I ended up mostly using strings I could get at any store, just because it's easier that way. (D'Addario XL's - I like them too). Otherwise, I have used [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] in the past. Their shipping was $5 a long while ago, but has gone up since. Plus, it was much better when the exchange rate was at par. You'd have to order enough stuff to make it worth it now.

I haven't ordered strings from them, but Cosmo Music and Long & McQuade have been pretty good for Canadian retailers for other things.

Stagg in Alberta often gets cool stuff in before anyone else. I bought one of the first short scale Stingrays to enter the country through those guys, and it was a demo, too, so minus $$$. Free shipping to Newfoundland, which is not negligible.

I heard that Archambault closed down but I could be wrong.

RedOne is great! I've bought many things from them over the years. And Cosmo Music generally has a much better selection of strings than L&M does, in my experience.

There's ProSpec Strings in QC as well. Their website kinda sucks but they have an active Reverb store and they often have NOS strings that you can't find anymore.

Thanks, Superheavyfunk! ProSpec was the supplier whose name I could not recall.

I stumbled upon this site yesterday, Bass North, which I'd never heard of before. Looks interesting. Must be pretty new. St. Thomas is only a short drive away from where I live. Anyways, they have Sadowsky, Warwick, SIT, Spector, and Dingwall strings listed on their site now. Haven't really looked at the prices yet.
I found that guy to be very helpful, great customer service and his prices are fair. I bought some bass hardware, and he's at the top of my list for the future.

:) I used to live a couple of blocks from where BassNorth is now. ( that was 20+ years ago, for just a few months before I was off to New Jersey). Surprising to see that google street view reveals that little town has pretty much tripled in size

I've never purchased strings from Solo Music Gear but I can say they are very quick to ship with other items like their bass kits, pickups, and other random parts.

Interesting, I bought some parts there a couple of weeks ago, took 5 days for them to send my order out. No complaints other than the slow shipping though, price was good and shipping was quick once it was actually dispatched.

I ordered a tele guitar kit about a month ago on a Thursday and it arrived by Saturday. Granted I'm in Waterloo so its not going far from Toronto.

That is not right...Certainly needs a complaint sent.
You reminded me of a similar problem..
I ordered Friday, paid for same day shipping...it was too late to go out Friday...but did not receive parts until Monday evening.
Apparently they do not ship on the weekend.
I needed the parts for Saturday and was not informed of the delay.
