Double Bass Best PA System for Small Venues

Not sure if it fits your parameters, but I have been running sound for the local Jazz Society in my town, and was tasked with choosing a sound system to purchase a while back. We ended up with a Presonus AR 16 mixer (12 inputs) and Yamaha powered speakers. It is overkill for most of what we need, but it has been absolutely fantastic.

Yamaha DB/DR is a great design for a monitor or speaker cabinet design.

The mini-line array systems have surpassed the older style cabinets for more even dispersion throughout the crowd. Add in the built-in subs that most of these systems include and it is a better and easier package for small-to-medium gigs.

I use the EV Evolve system, but basically every PA company makes their own version now and they are all pretty similar. Some have built-in mixers if you only need a few channels.
