Best pedal for a basic square wave?

What's the best pedal anyone can recommend for creating a good basic square wave sound. I never liked the tracking or sound on the SYB or BSW. I would like to get a BMS but what else do you guys use?

I liked the SW on the BMS paired with it's octave down. I currently use a Moog Freqbox and like the SW setting on that.

As much as I love my BMS, the "square wave" is just a basic fuzz. If you're looking for a real square wave and don't like the SYB, try checking out the Moog Freqbox. Yes, its a step up in price, but the Freqbox really is awesome. It gives you triangle, saw, square and pulse waves, plus it has a blend, and a few other goodies.

Hmm. Well I have several basic fuzzes but they seem to be overbearing sometimes, even with the LPF after it. What's a good tame fuzz for running OC2 fuzz filter?

The square and pulse waves in the Octavius Squeezer are really nice. Actually the square in the Line 6 M9 is surprisingly nice too.

As has been said before, the BMS "Square wave" isn't, and it doesn't sound anything like a square wave.

You can't get a simple square wave out of a G5, it doesn't do one.

Plekan: The most affordable option is the Boss SYB-3 or SYB-5

You could try feeding one fuzz into another. That would certainly sheer off any round edges on your waveform.

The BMS is indeed a great pedal but it cannot produce anything that sounds like a square wave.

Know anyone who does this mod? I'm much too lazy for that.

Yeah the BMS is awesome and I want one but I'm not convinced it's a true square wave.

What kind of wave form is in the Qtron? I love that sound minus the quack. I just want more of it.

The SYB-5 was always too pingy for me. Too much laser gun attack even on the square wave settings and tracking was a disaster although if you are super careful it's doable. I just don't want to play like that.

Iron Ether is pricey too. I want it and their filter.

TBH I would want to replace the -2 oct knob with one that controls the frequency of the low-pass filter, instead of using a switch to bypass it. I wonder if that's possible.

Not at all. I'll do it if you want to send me your OC-2

Reading some of the comments below the video, it looks like the mods sound still bleeds through slightly when it's switched off which is a bit of a bummer...
