best phaser pedal these days?

Have you tried Explorer? I know you're a huge phaser fan, I think you'd dig it.

It's on my list but I haven't come across one to check out yet. I've heard nothing but good things, though.

Another vote for the Mr Black Gilamondo! Not sure why he discontinued it, but looks like he's pushing the mini pedals these days. The Gilamondo won out for me over a number of killer analog options including a Subdecay Quasar Deluxe an an HBE Psilocybe (which I used happily for years). I've been meaning to mod mine to get expression control over the "Bonus" control as I recall at least one TB'er was able to get one done this way.

The phaser options in the Source Audio C4 are no slouch either, and can be controlled by either envelope and/or LFO

I went for the JHS Series 3 Phaser for now because I'm looking to add a little phaser "on the side" rather than have it take over, and it has a dry/wet blend control which most phasers don't. You could call it a "safe option", but I don't mind, since I'm still figuring out what I like and want to hear.

I was using an Aguilar Grape Phaser which was just fine. Then I bought an Earth Quaker Devices Grand Orbiter which blew the Grape Phaser off the board.

I am using the Grand Orbiter. My script Phase 90 was cool but had a slight volume drop. I tried the Lillian and did not like the sweep pattern. Grand Orbiter is great, the resonance control gives it some teeth on its own.

The pedal doesn’t say, the box doesn’t say, the manual doesn’t say.

So I don’t know, but it’s about 1.5 years old to me so probably v2 or v3.

I like the Phase 90 variants, and use the VFE Tractor Beam V.3. Not sure if they still build them, but it is a Phase 90/45 on steroids w/ a mix knob and everything else one might need.

That's a V3. The V1 is the big box, and the V2 has the Sweep and Resonance controls flipped. Not that it really matters, since they all sound awesome

I really dig the phaser in the C4. I use the preset in Neuro that someone made called Phase 90, I think. Assign the two knobs to be resonance and frequency, and it's a great tweakable phaser with a blend knob. I probably wouldn't buy it for this alone, but it's really all I'm using it for live, which is entirely original rock stuff. I also have a Moog LPF on a preset, in case it gets weird. I have the 2 lower knobs assigned to the same values with board tape and Sharpie labeling the thing because I can't be bothered to remember those details in the moment.

It sounds killer used like a Jet Flanger with Octamizer into a dirt with a blend, then the C4. Thinking about saving a version tweaked to be an envelope phaser as well...
