Best rock lyric ever?

Not best lyrics ever, but an obscure yet great one. IMO. With awesome fretless bass, too :)...

I love women, I think they're great
they're a solace to the world in a terrible state
They're a blessing to the eyes, a balm to soul
what a nightmare to have no women in the world

I love women
I love women
I love women
we all love women

I used to look at women in the magazines
I know that it was sexist, but I was in my teens
I was very bitter, all my sex was on the sly
I couldn't keep my hands off women, and I won't till I die

I love women
ah, I love women
we love women
we all love women

A woman's love can lift you up, and women can inspire
I feel like buying flowers and hiring a celestial choir
A choir of castratis to serenade my love
they'd sing a little Bach for us and then we'd make love

I love women
I love women
We all love women
we love women

Way, way underrated:

Chicago Transit Authority, Terry Kath

Introduction

Hey there everybody
Please don't romp or roam
We're a little nervous
'Cause we're so far from home

So this is what we do
Sit back and let us groove
And let us work on you

We've all spent years preparing
before this band was born
With heaven's help it blended
And we do thank the lord.

Now we put you through the changes
And turned around the mood
We hope it's struck you different
And hope you feel moved

So forget about your troubles
As we search for something new
And we play for you

1. Almost heaven, West Virginia
Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River
Life is old there, older than the trees
Younger than the mountains, blowing like a breeze

2. I looked out this morning and the sun was gone
Turned on some music to start my day
I lost myself in a familiar song
I closed my eyes and I slipped away

3. There's a port on a western bay
And it serves a hundred ships a day
Lonely sailors pass the time away
And talk about their homes

4. Take this job and shove it
I ain't working here no more

5. Step inside
Walk this way
You and me babe
Hey hey!

6. Babe I'm leaving
I must be on my way

7. I realize the best part of love is the thinnest slice
And it don't count for much
But I'm not letting go
I believe there's still much to believe in

8. Those crazy nights, I do remember in my youth
I do recall, those were the best times, most of all

9. Work your fingers to the bone - whadda ya get?
Boney Fingers - Boney Fingers.

10. Well my daddy left home when I was three
And he didn't leave much to Ma and me
Just this old guitar and an empty bottle of booze

I could go one all night...
I've read about 5 pages. Lovin' this!

'We are stardust, we are golden
We are billion year old carbon
And we got to get ourselves back to the garden' - mitchell

And we can't read the OP's request from our folk gardennnnnn.

Yes - but what about what the OP was asking for? What would you put as that?

History recalls how great the fall can be

While everybody's sleeping, the boats put out to sea

Take a dream on a Sunday

Take a life, take a holiday

Take a lie, take a dreamer

Guess I'll always have to be

Living in a fantasy

That's the way it's got to be

From now on

So you think your schooling's phony

I guess it's hard not to agree

You say it all depends on money

And who is in your family tree

But at night, when all the world's asleep

The questions run so deep

For such a simple man

Now they're planning the crime of the century

Well what will it be?

Now some they do and some they don't

And some you just can't tell

And some they will and some they won't

With some it's just as well
