Double Bass Best Small Amp that will work great with BSX Allegro

I routinely carry the Genzler in one hand and a bunch of stuff (bass or piano gear) in the other up several flights of stairs easily.

This brings back memories since you mention "piano parts up the stairs".
Back in the day when I was 17-21, I was doing gigs on call. You get a call, dont even know what or with who you are going to play.
About every time I arrive at the gig, an upright piano, as heavy as hell, needs to be carried up a flight or two of stairs.
So that is where you meet some members of that particular band.
Strange thing...... I met a lot of bass, guitar and drummers helping with the piano up the stairs, .... but I never seen any of the keyboard players during the carrying up the flight of stairs.
The Keyboard players, always magically "apparated" out of thin air, like Vlad the Impaler, as soon as the piano was on the stage.

I have had my Allegro for over 10 years and have gone through a lot of combos in that time trying to get "the sound".
We play all acoustic instruments (2 guitars, violin, and my BSX) with no drums or FOH support. I still own and have used:
Phil Jones Briefcase, Suitcase, and a Session 77, Ampeg B50R, B100R, Ampeg SB12, Fender Rumble 100, Ampeg VT22.
The Session 77 is my favorite for live work. I use a standard amp stand to get it off the floor and it has always
performed flawlessly. It is amazing the kind of sound the (2) 7" drivers produce. I also play old school country with a
drummer, pedal steel, and guitar and up it to an Ampeg pf50 and Mark Bass 210 Standard front ported cabinet (a great
set up, my favorite) or an Ampeg B-3115 combo for loud venues. Great sound, loud, but almost 90 pounds.

New Allegro owner waking up a zombie thread... so far I have tried mine through a Fishman Loudbox Mini, Ampeg Rocket 108, and Ampeg PF-50t + PF-112HLF. Which is all I have apart from tube guitar combos. I like it through the Rocket 108 the most but I've only played it at home so far. You need to roll off a lot of treble for pizzi playing.

I don't own a BSX, but do play an EUB. I use a Phil Jones Double Four, and it works fine. 8.8lbs, about the size of a shoe box. Can also be battery powered if that matters to you.

I bought my double four a while back, and like it a lot. I understand it's had an upgrade. Any info on or experience with that?

BG-80 (Double Four Plus) has a little more power, adds Bluetooth, and can be USB-C powered.

Because I always want to be as compact as possible, I've been using a Phil Jones Bass Double Four amp for the last eight years. It served me very well with my bass ukes and my 35 person ukulele group. It's not just a practice amp, I use it in the backyard of one member, in a large Veteran Center multipurpose room, senior center rec-rooms, and the amp performs very well.

When I saw last week that the new Plus model is available in the US, I went for it because they upped the watts from 70 to 90, added Bluetooth input and a USB-C power port that simplified the cable I use for the laptop...
