So what is the best song about the moon? Take a listen and decide…

Pros: 1st movement sounds like it’s about to kick off, innit?
Cons: No bass, pesky 2nd movement you have to wait until the 3rd movement which is a real banger.

Pros: sounds like the waves are washing over you
Cons: this is talkbass, not talkpiano

Pros: finally some bass, but it is an upright. Plus, the song really rocks, and it’s Elvis.
Cons: Not the original, but this one slaps a lot harder. Get it? Because of the rockabilly style upright? Ha!

Pros: check out the bass intro. Yeah, not bass guitar or upright, but he’s still family. Like a distant cousin or something.
Cons: once you realize Clapton lifted the melody for the guitar solo in White Room, you can never un-hear it.

Pros: it’s not Brown Eyed Girl, and it has a nice bass groove
Cons: not jazz, but “jazzy”

Pros: this song represents the best of the 70s. I know you’re about to say something about Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath, but you’re wrong. Seriously smooth, with a great groove, and enough complexity to elevate it above other AM radio hits.
Cons: was covered by some horrible band named Toploader. I mean serious, it sucks worse than if Smashmouth covered Ave Maria. Also, the story of the event that inspired the writing of this song is absolutely horrible - not even going to hint at it, except to say that it’s amazing that such a beautiful song can come as a result of something so horrible.
