I like how the yoke closes as gravity pulls the bass down, giving a much more secure feeling for the neck.
That's my answer too. I used to use the cheaper non-locking ones, and I still keep one of those for a backup, but the Hercules really is worth the money. Unless you need to keep multiple instruments handy, then one of those racks would be the best way to go.I think this one is swell:

Ditto!!! I HATE those cheap guitar center wobbly stands!Another vote for this one http://www.herculesstands.com/guitars/GS414B.html. It's the only stand I'll use on stage.

And thank you for a responseHercules stands work great for me. They don't leave marks on a Nitro finish from their foam padding either.
