Best stands for basses

I think this one is swell:

I like how the yoke closes as gravity pulls the bass down, giving a much more secure feeling for the neck.
That's my answer too. I used to use the cheaper non-locking ones, and I still keep one of those for a backup, but the Hercules really is worth the money. Unless you need to keep multiple instruments handy, then one of those racks would be the best way to go.

Another vote for this one http://www.herculesstands.com/guitars/GS414B.html. It's the only stand I'll use on stage.

Ditto!!! I HATE those cheap guitar center wobbly stands!

I use this..
when I am traveling butat home I got one of these right here on the TB Clasifieds . One of the things I like about the Hercules stands is that they have this mechanical feature that locks the guitar in the stand.. the weight of the guitar does it.. but that first stand is pretty nice as well. The only reason I got the Hercules stand was because I saw it here .. but it is a great stand for home use.. or if you play more than one guitar..

When I was playing out a lot my favorite stand was whatever was foldable and on sale at the local music store. Part of my budget when playing all the time as a new stand twice a month. I must have been treating them badly because they ran away from home all the time.

For some reason I could not hang on to a stand when I used one a lot. These days I still use the same cheap stands and so far (knock wood) I've never lost a bass because of using them.
