BEST STRINGS EVER!!

I know in the past I've posted here on TB that I've finally found the absolute "best strings" ever!; but this time I'm serious ... more serious than the last time. :woot: My current/last favorite strings are the D'addario EXL165TP (45-105); now, they're still great sounding strings but I have to admit, I always felt they could stand to have some more bottom end BUT, the folks at D'addario must've been listening (to reviews) and decided to do something about that and came out with the NYXL set. These strings are Absolutely Amazing in tone and feel; if you haven't tried a set of these yet, do yourself a favor asap, and get some; I guarantee you (about 60-70% of you) agree and make them your new favorite string. ... well, this IS TB, so I'll say at least 20% will agree :roflmao:. Anyways, I LOVE these strings!:bassist:

I normally use EXL170s and like them just fine, but I gave the NYXLs a try. The first set of NYXLs were great. Thought I had found my new favorite string. The second set, the B and E strings came out flat-sounding. D’addario, to their credit, offered to send replacements. So while I was waiting for the replacements, I bought yet a 3rd set of NYXLs, but this time, the D string broke as I pulled it up to pitch. After all that, I went back to the EXLs and haven’t looked back.

As a side note, I tried a set of S.I.T.s. I pulled them off after 10 minutes.

WOW! 10 minutes?! I gave my set of S.I.T strings at least a week or so before I pulled them off, they sounded great when I first put them on, but soon after they were just meh, nothing special; so far (3 days) the NYXL's are holding up and sounding great on both my 4 and 5 string Basses.

My best strings ever are whenever I install a new set I've never tried before, get really excited about them, swear that's all I'll ever buy again, get used to their sound, excitement wears off, start thinking bass strings all sound more alike than different but there just might be an even better string out there, try out that set...Best string ever. ;)

They are my favorite strings on two of my bass’s. I like that they have a similar feel to DR’s with smoothness and flexibility but not quite as flexible and thereby, a little more responsive and easier to play faster. Aside, from that, I like that the tone is dynamic depending on input. Part of that is the bass’s they’re on but generally, they can be either warm/smooth or give up plenty of bite/growl. Though I generally like the feel of DR strings more, they can’t come close to NYXL’s for tone dynamics, IMO.

I always used DR Low Riders but over here they now cost 45 euros a pack (.45-.125) so I switched to reglar Slinkies (29 euros a pack) only to find out I absolutely LOVE them. Low Riders have a .105 E and .125 B. Slinkies a .100 E and .135 B. The balance is way better between those two strings.

D'Addario's like Rotosounds seem to die off faster then mentioned strings in my case.
