Best Youtube Bassist?

Not to be a bummer, but I'm not feeling the love.

I'm hearing a lot of "music store chops" for the most part. (Though I guess these days they should be called "YOuTube chops" ). I can walk down to GC in NYC and hear stuff that's comparable most any time. Beaver Felton was doing all that stuff in the early 90's. Where's he?

Lydia is great. Really musical -- though I'd love to hear her shed the Marcus Miller influence. I think she has the potential to be even better.

Wadenius is probably the best "cover" artist on YouTube.

No one mentioned Miguel. The guys devotion to Chris Squire is staggering, but he can do his own thing too. He covers dozens of Yes songs.

Hell, there are a few guys right here on TB who are great and many others who are very, very good. And of course, no one knows who fits a band situation, has good ears, or best or makes the groove feel good when playing together.

I guess this is just my little rant to say that music isn't an Olympic competition.

But feel free to check out MY Youtube videos! LOL!

I've mentioned Miguel which is simply Chris Squire reincarnation!!!! Amazing covers of Squire's work

He's certainly not the greatest i've ever seen but he's definitely got some chops. I really like his style of writing and his MONSTROUS TONE! I can almost hear how expensive his tone is :D Either way, Pretty unique IMO.

Also gotta give a shout out to MarloweDK. I probably watch more videos from this member more than any other.

Can't say that he's the best bassist on Youtube but in my book he sure does some amazing things on an 11 string bass (his fretboard damn near looks like the inside of a piano - maybe he should play an 88 string bass). Don't have a clue if he can hold down a bass line or lock in with a drummer but by God he's got some serious talent at what he does. Quite a number of Youtubes and NAMM shows and Solos, check a few out (his Mario Bros one floors me - kinda makes one think, all that talent but why that song?)

Kinda silly but talk about getting all 10 fingers going!

+10...I heard this guy some time ago when I was searching for a soundclip of a Wal bass...the guy in the hat makes me LOL

There are thousands of bassists in unsigned bands and folks doing covers on Youtube. Who do you think is the best? I am starting this with my vote for David from Deep Kick. He has a bunch of covers on Youtube but I think this is his best.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Can't Stop

I agree with you David is a true talent! I saw his videos when he first started playing and he was way rough around the edges back than but, his dedication and drive took him way past that stage in a very short period of time. I was amazed at the progress he made in a year’s time. And his arsenal of bass guitars became very impressive as well. I bow down to this kid he is a monster player!

Here's the problem, everything is so subjective with this.
There is no single way to say player "A" is better than player "B".
Personally, the kid is OK at best IMO.
Maybe good for playing a year or two, but heck, seriously, MarlowDK for example. Umm....think he has this kid smoked pretty easy.
Ly'Dia.....

He's playing a cover of a RHCP tune.
Cool...I think......but "monster" or best bass player on YouTube.

Try Will Carling out:

Her.

i dont know if shes been posted yet, but she is so freaking amazing. and the fact that she plucks the strings with only her index and pinky finger is just incredible. This has to be one of my favorite bass videos on youtube.
