Double Bass Beta 52

Hi,

I recently just got a Beta 52 as a gift to amplify my double bass. I am having some feedback issues and I thought if I got a pre amp that it would solve my problems because I could turn the volume down a little bit. Right now, I am plugging in direct to a Bose L2 system. There are not enough inputs through the mixer, so I plugged directly into the system in the analogue input in the back which does not have volume control, but allows the bass to come through both subs…

Would the Fishman Pro-EQ Platinum Bass Instrument Preamp/EQ/D.I. help me solve my problems or just take money out of pocket?

There's no mic input on the Fishman. There are any number of small mic preamps which might serve your purpose, ranging from very inexpensive to mortgage the house. ART has a few well-reviewed options from the former category. I use a Joe Meek channel strip which provides a fair suite of tone-adjusting controls, including a compressor and EQ section with sweepable mids.
