Better Call Saul

I was surprised how Kim played along, but her speech to Chuck told the story: you've beating Jimmy down so long, it's time you took some licks. Prove it or move it, I'm taking Jimmy and my new client home with me.

Sad for Mike. He burns the bad guys and an innocent Samaritan dies. We could see that it hurt him but resolved something in him. In BB we knew he needed to get rich for his granddaughter but that seemed his main motivation. Now we see his motives also includes destroying ruthless king pin criminals to rid the planet of their scourge.

You can tell Nacho can't believe this old man is so tough and dangerous. He has fearful respect for Mike. Don't know his name but that guy is a very good actor and somehow I feel compassion for him, bad guy that he is.

One more episode. Im abhorring the wait til next season.

Let's not forget, there's a little bit of bad in Kim too. She got a kick out of scamming strangers in the lounge. She knew Chuck was right on the money almost immediately, but she made a conscious choice to stick up for Jimmy and reap the ill-gotten reward. The scammer mentality offends, repels, and fascinates and attracts her at the same time. She played her role in the joint scam on Chuck.

That's one of the things writers like Gilligan and Tarantino do so well; all of these people are seriously flawed, some more than others. But we still end up sympathizing with some of them. Kim is pretty much the closest thing to a "moral compass" we have in this show, and she's far from perfect.

I fear for Kim. Jimmy has a way of landing on his feet, but I think this liaison will be Kim's ultimate undoing.

I'm thinking they may put Chuck in a coma rather than kill him off now....Season finale cliffhanger?

What if the bump to the head cures his phobia? That would be wild.

The only reason I am doubtful about killing off Chuck is he still has some work to do. Jimmy hasn't fully crossed over yet. I think Chuck will be instrumental in that.

Am really liking the season.
My prediction is; Mike will shoot Tio Salamanca with a sniper rifle and cause the injury that put him in the wheelchair. Kim will break away from Jimmy and set out on her own with Mesa Verde. Chuck will die from his head injury. And Jimmy will inherit what's left of Chuck's estate, being next of kin, and use the funds to launch his own practice.

This is a series I wish Nexflix would buy so we can binge watch it.

Removed my reply for the reason in the next post.

Kim certainly breaks up with/away from Jimmy, but she lost Mesa Verde back to HHM, so I don't see that changing. And does Chuck even have a head injury? So far I've interpreted it to a mental condition/illness, but those aren't typically fatal. Interesting idea on the estate, though. Which brings up a further question: was an older brother ever mentioned in Breaking Bad? I've seen every episode but my memory is nowhere near good enough.

Uh oh. You may not be current.

This episode scores 11 on a 10 scale! Wait, no, it's a 12 out of 10!

The visuals are so great. Tell me this shot doesn't represent the balloon guy Jimmy got his inspiration from for his new colorful wardrobe.

Seeing as how the show is as much about Mike as it is about Jimmy, I'm going to go out on a limb and make a prediction about the next Breaking Bad Easter egg.

Mike has declared full-on war against the Salamanca crew and it's clear that it will soon be coming to a head. Due to the inevitable instability within the Salamanca crew, a void will open up in the local drug market and it only makes sense that someone will step in to fill it. I predict that that person will be none other than Tio Salamanca's mortal enemy, Mike's future employer, one Gustavo Fring! If we don't see him next week, it will be early next season!

You heard it here first boys and girls! ;)

When Mike got the news about the Good Samaritan, I couldn't help but think about the kid that accidentally got involved in the "train robbery" episode of Breaking Bad. Mike took that pretty hard as well, and now we see that it wasn't the first time that happened.

Michael Mando is the actor that plays Nacho. I've only seen him before on Orphan Black, but I agree - he's great.
