Better than the "official" guitarist?

What's this have to do with band management? I'm sure many people have had this happen as there are many talented multi-instrument people. How about when the guitar player is better than the bass player at bass?
This happens often for me... not bragging, it's just that I played guitar as my main instrument for 16 years and was trained as a jazz guitarist, then switched to bass as my main axe later.
The funny thing is that the sax player in my main group may be a better bass player than me lol.

Then you could maybe offer him some help if he's not doing something right. Otherwise, who cares if it sounds good?
Why does it matter? I'm sure you don't play every song perfectly every single time yourself. Maybe he thinks you suck? Ever think of that?
Depending on the band, sometimes I am better than the primary guitarist, sometimes I am not, and sometimes I am the primary guitarist. I nearly always play guitar on a few songs in any band because my original guitar songs are very unorthodox with unusual tunings on modified guitars and sometimes unusual time signatures.
