Big amps

First I found out that I was using A 6/10 Neo cabinet. I wrongly assumed they were 15’s.
It was a NYE Party and I moved in, pluged in and played. Then it was over. I knew a lot of the people so a lot of visting was required
I was was however very impressed with the voicing and I believe you are correct. The voicing of the 800 with a matching cabnet is just superior to the rumbler.
They are just different animals and both have a place.
Iv only got about 900 bucks in my system and I can carry it.
The 800 with the Neo cabinets is easly three times that and I would need help
loading it or a two wheeler or both.
But damn it sounded good! Even to my old ear

Aha! The 610 is the equivalent speaker area to three 15" speakers! No wonder it was pushing some serious air. A Rumble 500 head pushing the 4 ohm 610 could probably sound just as awesome.

...And room interactions are crucial.
I can vouch for that. My uke group for which I play bass, uses two different rooms at a Vet Center, one is smaller with a curved wall on one side and all glass windows on the opposite outside wall. My Phil Jones Double Four and my Carvin MB15 sounds like crap no matter how I adjust them. The other room is larger, rectangular with only two sets of glass doors on the outside wall and my amps sound much better.

In the past my amps have been in the 300 watt range.
My rig now is a Fender Rumbler 500 with an extra cab to use the full 500.
Last night i set in for a guy and used his bassman 800 and could not believe the difference that 300 watts made.
I had thought I needed another Dclass 500w bass amp but now believe I might be short sighted and reallyneed more amp.
I realize the problems of hauling it around but I love to feel my bass.
Any suggestions?
Get another 500c and an extension cab and run them together. Then you will have a very configurable, built in backup rig.
Now, what you need to do is get over to the Fender Rumble Club thread in the Amps & Cabs forum and become a member. We have a wealth of Rumble knowledge there, including @G-Dog's Wiki Pages. See you there.
