You ever think about duratexing the shell and just staining the front or would that be too costly?

We just received an order from Stanford University to supply sound for one of their problematic lecture halls. They are looking for solutions in many areas. A road trip is probably in order at some point. From either Chicago or Kansas to San Francisco with a trailer full of gear.
Although my fairly normal mind will probably be mush from days in a truck with 3 ADD geniuses.drool
Two tweets are no problem but likely not a big advantage. If the cab is horizontal it'll be oriented so that the tweet is firing at you. If horizontal---same thing. Obviously these highs are very directional but we've found that the "carrier wave" created by the MVW enclosures somehow encapsulates them to a degree and spits them forward. I know---science fiction---but you can be off axis and still get highs. I (and many others) have experienced it.

yes, thinking a second tweet mainly for when used in the horizontal orientation.
i would have to hear one in person to get past the visual and hear the dispersion of the highs.

I'll have to try it sometime. A LOT of extra labor! But---I just changed my Okume supplier to one made in France. The wood is rotary cut and really pretty. Applying the finish is no big deal---just the preparation. It would be substantial extra dough---Likely 4 hours more labor. Everything would have to be done in sections so as to clean and sand all glue residue. I'm getting a headache thinking about it.
Hmn...never thought of doing that--either raising it off the floor or rotating it 90 degrees. Like MarkA, the small stages I work usually don't allow turning my 112 horizontally, but I could put it on a milk crate or box of some sort.

Hey bay area guys, my 2x10 flex is in the classifieds. Did not make this 4 string flats blues and boogie knucklehead want to give up my original 4x8 or the sweet small venue 4x6. Passing on the deal I got from nomatic.

Not for sure on when. It kind of depends on Stanford, and how quickly I get their stuff done. They're a newer design so I didn't have any inventory sitting around. The first cabs will just be shipped out.

O. M. G... We'll have to title this chapter of the Big E saga, "Beyond the Brown Note," or something like that.
