I'm glad someone around here is playing a bunch of gigs! :hyper:

I'm very happy I don't work myself like that anymore. I got to gigging so much that when I took a break and started law school in 2009 at the age of 48 my blood pressure went way down. So, I've been recommending law school to my musician friends as a way to reduce stress!

Keep us posted on how it goes, these reports are really helpful!

Hey Edwin,

I think we crossed paths a few times in boulder maybe ten years ago. I think that's an interesting perspective on switching careers. I just finished my MA in another field after playing full time through my 20's and early 30's and I'm curious to actually get paid for non music stuff.

Anyway, I have a Big 45 on order if you ever want to check it out in Denver sometime. Sadly, few gigs in Boulder these days. :crying:

Cool! I play in Denver all the time. Let me know when it arrives, I'd love to swing by and check it out.

I can't wait to get paid in another field, but life circumstances being what they are I'm having to wait. However, my location recording business is picking up again, so if anyone out here wants to make a live record....

The 8 x 5 , a 46 and 4 45's are done. The custom grill maker screwed up and sent me white grills! I should have the black grills by Friday or Monday. These cabs will go out witin a few days of receiving the grills.

A polite request to Mike:

Have you considered a detailed demo video on all models? It would be hugely helpful for potential buyers like me. A side by side A-B test of all cabs with electric and upright would make it much easier to decide. I know it would not replace trying it in a store but since that's not an option .........
Acoustic Image has done some vids and I think they do demo the differences adequately.
I am really stoked about these cabs but written descriptions, however detailed and accurate, leave me wanting to hear them more.
Any thoughts?

Mike isn't very into clips, per his previous posts. However, to Mike, I'm glad to come down and/or lend you my very easy to use HD recorder, which does a VERY good job capturing the full range of a bass rig. Sounds VERY accurate assuming the listener is using a decent set of headphones!

Let me know... that would be fun!

I'm thinking of doing a GTG/video. With really good gear. Different guys playing. Maybe have 4 different models.

Finally got the custom grills. Right sizes, right color. Now I've got a bunch of useless white grills.

Shrigg's 8x5 is done except for the recessed spring-loaded handles. Waiting for a special bit to do the routings. Boy does it sound good.

Also---making a 2 x 5 in 3/8 poplar.Should be less than 15#---I'm shooting for 13# so as to replace my personal Crazy 8.

Bring that on! What quality level is needed to get full sound? I don't care about the video if you wanted to do stills over with a description that would save a lot of downloading!
