BIG MUFF

Can someone tell me the difference between the USA model and the one made in Russia besides price and craftsmanship. Is the Russian version a good pedal? Is there a difference in sound between the two? By the way, be thinking guitar not bass when you reply. Thanks. PS I am in the market for an effects pedal and have always used the Boss DS-1 but I want to give the Muff a try...so the reason for my ? Thank you. :bassist:

i don't know about bongo's, but my post was trying to convey my disappointment at the fact that this has been discussed at great length already, and very recently (last couple days) at that. and also that the "search" function is far too neglected.

to answer your question (from my perspective), the ds1 is more distortion, and the muff is more fuzz. two different flavors of the same thing. the russian model is good... as long as you like the sound. it's different from the USA version. the sound is close, but quite different when it comes down to it. muff is thicker and fuzzier than distortion, in general. try them out! they both rock, truth be told. the USA version is built better, too.

this is from a bass perspective, by the way... joining a guitar forum (or at least visiting one) is a great way to learn about these pedals from a guitar player's perspective.
