I remember Clarion making a 60" car stereo sub years ago. Now that was just impractical. When you get a chance, look up the "world's largest subwoofer" video on youtube. It's a sub cab built into a cargo shipping container!

Big box, but 15" drivers. (40 of them.)

Tom Danley, also did some twisted servo motor powered subs, again with 15" drivers.

That Ampeg is JimmyM's dream amp. Well, the amp and the roadies to schlep it around for him. Now I know they're not large, but if you want low frequency response, check out the Tactile Sound transducers on partsexpress.com . They get down to 1 hz with no box. If I were to build a rig for a Knuckle bass, that's probably where I'd start.

The OP was originally asking about how big a single driver cab could get, but I think we've basically ascertained that already.

As for multiple driver cabs, well, yeah, there is that Ampeg show one.

There are some 4x15 cabs around. Marshall has made one, Hiwatt used to make one. Trace Elliot also made one. Electricamp makes three different ones, it looks like.
