Y'all seen Invalid Link Removed? I switch between flats and Frogs on my single; I saw an ad up on top of this page for these and thought they looked cool and a red pair would look nice on the single, and then I saw the price...lordy!

Congratulations! Where'd you to go?...my wedding and honeymoon.
Possibly true, but they (twenty6) wouldn't be the first bike-geek company to charge approaching-outrageous pricing basically 'cause they think that they can, and apparently do, get away with it. CNC machining ain't that expensive these days....an estimate for a insurance claim or something...

Then subsequently learned that ya walk a razor's edge when trying to rebuild strength on the bike and lose weight at the same time.
that pukey feeling was there.
Why's that? The higher intensity (intervals or w.e.) makes you spend more Kj's while being a good strength builder as well as pushing your lactate threshold further, no? I'm not very good at those things but as long as you're not aiming mass gain and fat loss at the same time it should work.
Feel free to correct me, I`m trying to learn![]()
That's not the intervals, that's from your new marital status.

although people would probably buy **** if it's wrapped in carbon.
Ti, yes...but I was also referring to the plain ol' aluminium ones @ $205. That's approaching obscene IMO.There's a big price tag with just about anything ti. Look at the tag on the CB egg beater 4ti and seven stems.
Intervals are actually a poor way to lose weight since the high intensities burn muscle glycogen (sugar) and at quick rates. You need more sugar (intake) to maintain this effort and a lot more to rebuild it, which usually results in no real caloric defecit. If you skimp on eating after intervals, you tend to not rebuild and recover as well...
and build muscle at the same time. Is this even possible?
I'd suggest focusing on the muscle side, primarily. The calorie burn from training will take care of the fat issue by itself...just be mindful of your intake. Is this even possible?
Ok this stuff does get a bit confusing.
I have read that intervals are a good way to burn fat while maintaining muscle since you are expending more calories and still working the muscles hard.
I have previously done the standard long distance at a steady fast cadence (both on bike and speedskating) and this worked very well for burning fat. I had recently started working on balancing muscle growth and that was going well also until I had to have surgery last month *shite!* I was off the bike/skates for 2 weeks. Now i'm back to trying to burn fat againand build muscle at the same time. Is this even possible?
I've been trying to create a bit of calorie deficit while mixing intervals AND alternating long distance/steady pace routines. I've also increased my intake of protein to help maintain muscle.
If anyone has any other suggestions on how to burn fat and build and maintain muscle at the same time, i'm all ears!!
