I just bought a Nash J from Brian and it is on it's way! Olympic White, I have heard so many good things, I can't wait to experience the Nash. I will update when it arrives, here are a couple pics.
It arrived yesterday and I must say that the pictures do not do it justice. I look at this bass as a work of art, and it is one of the most playable basses I have ever owned. Not sure about the pickups, I was told they might be dimarzios but they do not have the Dimarzio name on them, either way they sound great. I switched to flats and this required some adjusting. The truss rod needed to be tightened, and minor bridge adjustments, but the bass is # 1 in the rotation now. I would have to say that the neck is the first thing that jumps out at me. I really like the feel of the neck and the whole thing must weigh a hair over 8 lbs. Overall , I am very pleased with the bass, and I would get another one if I could afford it. I had to unload the stable to get this one, but IMO it was worth it. It would have been nice to try before you buy, but I took a chance and it paid off. sounds exactly like my experience.
I love my Nash bass and was planning on eventually getting an Alder/Rosewood sister for her but a Fullerton '62 RI circa '83, my year of birth, popped up on the FS forum so I had to have her (currently on it's way to me).
as much as I have super high expectations from the Fullerton P I wouldnt be surprised if the Nash turns out to be the better bass for me or at least end up sharing the "go to" spot with the '83 RI.
however, I'm still GASing for a Nash Jazz such as yours, I just wish he would do blocked and bound necks.
I do have the hang tag, looks like Dimarzio I guess, but Brian at The Low End thought that the Dimarzios usually have Dimarzio on the PU cover. And I also thought Dimarzios are only put on at the dealers request. Either way the bass sounds fantastic and I have never used Dimarzios before or Lollars for that matter. I have only used Fender, Duncans and Barts in the past. I have posted a pic of the hang tag in case anyone can decipher it.

Those are actually Daddario Chromes and I already replaced them with Half Rounds which I really dig. I know a lot of people do not like them, but they work for me.
On a side note, I was checking out a Shoreline Gold Nash bass on Invalid Link Removed and noticed the following message:

His Suburban was hit by a drunk driver on February 27th.

Bill is the man. Each one of his basses is a "one off" piece of art. So, alot of the excitment of having it built is compounded with the fact that I don't know where the relicing will be and just how much. Believe it or not, not knowing is a good feeling. All I can say is that if the quality is on par with my '57 P, I'll have the best Jazz bass in Los Angeles. I'm kidding, of course. But seriously, he's made some badass basses. I've sold everything I don't use in order to get another one minimizing any out-of-pocket expense. That should say something about Mr. Nash's work...and solidify the fact that I'm friken nuts!!
