What a gut punch; he had an amazing resume; what is even sadder is that his wife, Francesca, an artist(and bass player)who did all the recent ‘freakshow’ style artwork for KC, died last year of lymphoma...

Yes, this sadly sucks. The earth is a sadder place when a great musician leaves it. King Crimson has recently been suggested as the best touring band in the world during the last few years. Bill was a major force in their current incarnation. He also contributed great melotron as well without which they could not have resurrected so many of their oldest and best songs, most of which had never seen the light of day in a live setting. My favorite band since 1973. R.I.P.

One of the things about him is that he was for me the hallmark of a good project. If it had his name on it someplace, I'd listen to it, and it was always good.
