Birdsong Club Pt 2

Well hello, brethren! One of the results of taking a deep breath and embracing the slowing down 2021 brought to so many is that I'm popping in here after years, and will try to be a little more present for anyone who has questions about anything. I'll do my best. I can't believe how many pages this is, and it's humbling the interest still after so many years. Whether we've talked or not, thank you SO much. Had my CBass out playing some Dead (and a few others) last night. Aside from me personally screwing up Shakedown Street it was a pretty solid night!

The basses always get great feedback, and not the kind from the speaker!

A Corto, a 5er, and a couple trips by the shop... just giving the head guy a hard time. It's what I do... lol.

What amps Birdsong people play? Maybe it's all over the place. First time owing Mesa products, I recently got a Subway WD-800 head with a 1x12 cab also from the Subway series. And my two Birdsongs (the only two basses that I now own, one Skyrider with tapes and one Sadhana with flats, same pickup configuration) have never sound better. Honeymoon period and what not, but I feel that such a Mesa combination makes me a better player :)

I play through a Euphonic-Audio iAmp500 and two E-A Wizzy 12 cabinets for the most part. I love the variety of sounds and have gotten many compliments when playing live. I record through the iAmp500 as well. Have posted a few recordings a page or so back.

Ha ha ha, no - no April Fools' Day here. April 1st is a date of BIG significance in my past and path, so it's a day I'm likely to make things happen on. Prankster yes, but not the "April Fools!" kind of stuff.

Worship rehearsal tonight... struck again by a thought I have often when playing my new 5 stringer: This bass deserves to be with someone who plays better than me. It just sounds so good! Feels so nice! I feel like I am starting to adjust to the 5 string, though I still play enough clams for a chowder cook-off. Love this bass so much! Love the Corto too... but as much as I have loved the Corto for the last 14 years or so, I may love the 5er even more...

If you know the humbucker model, I would be grateful :-) I'm pretty happy with the Lace single-sized neck pickup, but not so happy with the Lace humbucker-sized bridge pickup. So this could give me some ideas to explore in the DiMarzio menu. Thanks!

That's a Dimarzio X2N-B...it is not a "conventional" pickup by any means. I have/had several Birdsongs with that pickup.
