Birdsong Club Pt 2

This is so hard waiting for my new basses. Yes the Corto2 is a ways off but the Embrace is so close to being done, in my mind at least, that I keep checking the web site 20 times a day looking for a new pic of the bass.

Now that I sold my Warmouth and Tacoma so fast I am stuck with my coffee shops SX PBass to play. Don't get me wrong that SX is way more bass that the price would indicate but this whole waiting thing is going to kill me.

Oh and it's only been less that a week since paying for them LOL!!!!

I started the club and decided that even just ordering was enough to join. Heck, even just ordering non-bass merchandise is enough for me. I do not keep strict membership standards. :-)

But sharing pictures once basses are in hand is much appreciated. :)

Just got a pic from Scott of the wood for my fretboard. Look at that thing. The transition from the light to dark on the left side is going to run down the neck. Cool!!!! The other pic is the great wood for the body with that big bark area.

Going to be the shape of a Corto 2 rear routed with the pickup layout of the Fusion.

Maple wings, Walnut center and headstock, Bacote fretboard, black hardware....

That bass is gonna be great looking! Love the fretboard.... Had a little time today and made a short vid of the Embrace for people interested. If you're thinking about a fretless it's a great choice.

I don't know if I am up to this waiting thing when ordering a bass.......My Embrace has to be so close to done but going crazy checking web site 20 times a day looking for new pics. Then there is the Corto2 custom that is just wood that has been picked out, I don't know if I can take the wait.... I know it will be worth it, after all I picked it out knowing the wait time but it seams like all I do is think about those basses. Stuck playing my SX P bass for now since I sold my other basses.
I know, get over it....

Hey it looks like your Embace has a tone control ? Did you add that or did Scott ? I'm hesitant to get one because on his site Scott does not show a tone control and I'd want a tone control.

Nice video ! Nice playing and I really like the sound of that bass. Are those tapewound strings ?

It came with the tone control. I didn't ask for it. I think he was experimenting with some different things on that bass and I was the guinea pig. I have another Embrace without a tone control and never had any problems getting a great sound. You can add your on tone control for under $50 so I wouldn't let that stop you from getting one....Yes they're tapewounds. Labella tapes. They're great. I tried Fender and D'Addario tapes and these are much better.

Did you ever try Chromes? I have them on all my basses fretted or not and love them. Scott is also a big fan of them and is shipping mine with them. I do like the looks of the black tapes (love black hardware and not a fan of chrome hardware) but wonder about the sound difference there would be?

I actually tried Cromes on this bass and they may have sounded even better than the tapes. I couldn't really expain what the difference was but you'll be happy with the Chromes. The tapes just look so right on this bass I had to leave them on.
