My next bass is going to be a Korina CBass. Fusion shape with matching headstock and rosewood fingerboard.

I'm going to have to move one beforehand but Scott loved the idea and I can't wait!

Yes Korina. Your Cbass design sounds great! I like the rosewood neck idea.

Yeah the idea was to have the light colored wood for the body and headstock and rosewood fretboard would match the black hardware. I love the fusion body because it is a little lighter due to the extra carving that goes into it. Plus that little handle in the upper horn is a nice touch!


I've seen that article about Korina and I've always wondered what Scott things about it. He recommended Korina when I brought up a lighter wood, said it is very similar to mahogany in terms of tone and response.

Digging the Delano pickup. Big and dynamic yet still warm and woody. It's everything Scott describes in the video and more. I like the simplicity of one pickup. And yet..... I do miss the unique character(s) of the varitone knob. So, planning for the next one...

Nice! I really like the simplicity of the one pickup, and I have heard that Delano in a birdsong at NJ guitar and bass center -very very cool sounding. The ornamentation at the bottom of the neck is classy too.

If anyone is in the market for another or knows someone who is, mine is in the classifieds, the eaglet prototype. Unfortunately my arthritis is such that I can't play it for any length of time on gigs (a kala is now my main bass), which is a shame because I just recorded with it all week and it sounds amazing.

I don't know if it's cool to cross post a link so I'll err on the side of caution, but it's there.

My bass has the delano a little closer to the neck position. Semi-hollow chambered build, and the sound is awesome! I love holding the bass up when a note rings out and hearing the note ring in the open spaces in the body. Beautiful Birdsong, love the Korina!

Wow !!..y'all have some really nice basses...I've been following this thread(and Birdsong) for a long time now...one day I will own one of these fine creations...my fantasy bass is either a Fusion with the single Delano(in the middle sweet spot) or a Sadhana..

I have a Sparrow, it's a really great little instrument....sounds just like my Cortobass.
I'm actually letting it go, as I'm just to in love with my recently acquired HY5 to play anything else lately!
