I was born in 63 and I own this 63 P-Bass.

This. '73 Tele bass. I'd have picked a P but I'm no fan of the chunk - any neck that causes me pain gets culled! This one could, too, but it's the only birth year bass I wouldn't mind owning, even if I had trouble playing it live, partly because I had an identical '74.

I really wish there were a such thing as a '73 Tele bullet neck with a pre-CBS shape, but not all of us were born in a good year for Fender.

This is a 69 P bass (found at Kebo's Basses), that would be a perfect Birthyear Bass for me...my b-day just passed, but I would take it for Christmas. If I could find it in Lake Placid Blue and maple neck it would even be better...
