Birthday Hartke + Ampeg rig

Actually last monday was my birthday but most new-found 16 year olds want a car right? me i could really care less because i was trying to convince my parents to let me buy a cheap head and cab off ebay. i didnt care what brand they were i just knew i needed at least 200w i just wanted something better than my 10w guitar practice amp:mad:.

After a birthdays worth of sitting around i force myself off the couch to get a glass of iced tea and sitting on the kitchen table is a Hartke ha3500a head just sitting there:eek:. My mom said that it was used (doesnt even look it) and i think she paid $250ish for it:hyper::cool::hyper:.

So on sunday after collecting some birthday money i went down to the same music store my mom got the head at and ran it through three different 4x10s(two ampeg and a GK) and a 15(no name). the GK was a little muddy one the lows and it didnt really make the highs sound to good. the one ampeg wasnt really clear at all it could see that it had at least two different kinds of speakers in it. But the one i bought had a really fat bottom and it held the highs together really nice. i had the tube and solid state preamp turned up to two nd the master volume the same and i could feel the cab vibrating through the floor and in to my feet!:bassist: this thing has some series growl. its an Ampeg BSE410HS and i spent $350 on it!:D

i forgot to turn the horn on the cab on last night when i was getting my tone all set in but i didnt even have to use the 10 band eq on my head. The high and low contours give me just what i want. i use mostly the tube preamp with the solid state in between one and two. i love this cab two because its got the top two speakers kicked back so u can actually hear yourself nd the sound isnt hitting the floor.

so all in all new rig $600 not to bad right?

****. i'm twice your age and have never had a birthday present half of that value. i certainly hope you take it to heart and put your blood and soul into music.
