Making a list of parts for a project. Planning on a non-reverse T-Bird Body with a fat Precision neck. Trying to decide on Bisonic Guild Starfire style pickups or T-Bird pickups.
What say you Talkbass?

If it isn't one of the nice Vintage repro Thunderbird pickups that are readily available, you're wasting money.

Make it the real deal.

I just put a set of them in this Orville, they're nice in a band setting at that volume. I Like Lulls way better, but they're a lot more money too.

Mike Lull Thunderbird pickups in an '89 Gibson, using DR Jonas Hellborg Signature strings with a pick, the rig is a GK700RBII and an SWR 6x10. I don't know the guy in the video.

Nice, I like the little ring tone at the end.
Never liked rounds on my bass, don't like dull flats either. Been using half rounds. With a whole new type of bass maybe is should play round wounds.

DarkStar/Bi-Sonic baby - and Thunderbird is the word. However.., if you are setting up a Fenderbird, the Guild DS/BS is for narrow spacing and won't work with Fender P or J neck spacing. Curtis Novak offers that and also has individual N/B spacing. (as on my 2 pu FB)

Thanks, I have been checking out the Curtis Novak pickups nice but pricey. How do they sound on the t-birds?

Awesome - I've not A/B'd them against buckers, but those twin singles (w/500k pots) deliver their own version of the legendary T-bird thunder for sure and for certain. :bassist:
