Bisonic or Thunderbird pickups on a Fenderbird?

Making a list of parts for a project. Planning on a non-reverse T-Bird Body with a fat Precision neck. Trying to decide on Bisonic Guild Starfire style pickups or T-Bird pickups.
What say you Talkbass?

I like it, or maybe the two t-birds in the standard position and the Bisonic in the middle. Would that create a problem with string spacing?

I just put a set of them in this Orville, they're nice in a band setting at that volume. I Like Lulls way better, but they're a lot more money too.

I think Franklin notes are quite pretty.

The Thunderbuckers are a nice option in between the cost of the Chinese ones and the Lull's.

The Chinese ones are very hard to beat for the money though.

Nice, I like the little ring tone at the end.
Never liked rounds on my bass, don't like dull flats either. Been using half rounds. With a whole new type of bass maybe is should play round wounds.

DarkStar/Bi-Sonic baby - and Thunderbird is the word. However.., if you are setting up a Fenderbird, the Guild DS/BS is for narrow spacing and won't work with Fender P or J neck spacing. Curtis Novak offers that and also has individual N/B spacing. (as on my 2 pu FB)

Not sure who that is either. The bass and the technique look familiar though



I’ve used the China-buckers. Was very happy with them

I think the current TB Plus pickups do sound excellent. I’ve had basses with early 90’s ones and newer versions. Both had a similar tone.

Awesome - I've not A/B'd them against buckers, but those twin singles (w/500k pots) deliver their own version of the legendary T-bird thunder for sure and for certain.
