Beautiful work! I especially like the neck binding of body wood, and the invisible fret ends. And I'm a complete sucker for black limba. Can't wait to get my very own slab of that stuff!

Thanks ctmullins. Initially I would like to do slice 2 strips out of the ebony board and glue it back in after slotting the frets. Unfortunately, I don't have wide enough ebony board, so I have to improvise...

Wow, that's turning out incredibly nicely! I prefer the limba strips on the board to ebony. I also really dig the body shape.

I'm happy with the limba strip too.
Initially I wanted to do the ebony strips because i wanted to immitate the warwick invisible fret technology without having to use router/dremel to cut the fret slots.
The ebony hides the glue line quite well.
Anyway, I l'm really happy with how it is now.

I made the ebony nut.

Might not be the most perfect nut in the world, but I think it is good enough.
I used the tool below to slot the nut
I found this on eBay. The good thing about it is the attachments is changeable and very cheap to get, instead of buying those expensive nut files.

Got some time to kill this evening, I drilled the tuner holes.

The tuners are gotoh tuners.
Next, align the bridge, install it, install the electronics and strings, and she will be alive.

I saw that nut slotting tool on ebay as well. It looks like a pretty good design, except for the fact that it seems like the handle will get in the way when trying to adjust the slots with the nut installed on the bass. Which is my preferred method of setting action at the nut.
