I do have a bit of a soft-spot for the 'Piebald' Maple/Black/White (or Mint) scheme. All it needs now is a cream-cased J to complete the package. My one and only Precision was a 1982 Squire JV series. It started life in Olympic White, but I refinished it to Black and added a DiMarzio J. My rattle-can black had nothing like the depth of gloss yours has:

Both look good, but I'd say the mint works much better with the maple fretboard.

EDIT: I like the Hipshot bridge better, also. I put the same one on my FrankenJazz.

The solution is obvious. You need another bass to have it both ways simultaneously. Problem solved.

I speak from experience. I have 2 Fender/MIM lined fretless jazz basses. One is passive (Fender SCN pickups) with white guard and GHS Precision Flats and the other has a black guard, John East Retro J preamp and GHS Tapewounds. (Di Marzio Model J pickups) Former has a chrome BADASS bridge and the latter a black BADASS bridge.

Two different yet similar basses . Wouldn't think of having it any other way.

I don't like mint and used to say the only time it looks good is on a dark green bass. But, seeing it on black I've changed my mind. It looks great on black as well.

Either one is great.
