100% agree with JimmyM:I have two with black, one with tort. I like both, but while with maple necks I prefer black, I don't have a clear favorite with a rosewood neck. But I still chose black![]()

FujiGen, it's a Japanese companyWhat's "FGN"?
It is a Japanese brand (Fujigen), producing basses for Fender, Ibanez, etc - some of which are high end. Their own brand FGN has pretty sweet and high quality instruments for reasonable prices. Like; they got the recipe from Fender, cook in their own oven and sell cheaper because players don't have to pay the marketing costsWhat's "FGN"?
They are extremely rare, but I recommend trying them if you encounter one.I know everything is supposed to be all tort all the time on this forum but the black pickguard just looks more distinctive and elegant on this bass. It’s beautiful.I got a FGN P-Bass and replaced the neck with a CS jazz neck.
It feels like my beloved CS Jazz and sounds like how I want my jazz neck pickup to sound. Might replace the pickup with Aguilar though, not sure yet.
Anyway; can't decide on pickguard color and need fellow TB opinions. For the record; I play rock, blues and latin-jazz at this time.

Mint
I wasn't the one to bring it up, but since it's been mentioned... mmmmmmmmint.
a nice mint green
Black! I just don't get the whole tort craze, it looks "off" on black finishes like Brown shoes with crisp Black pants. IMO black/black is just classy, Dead Sexy as my girlfriend says. Tort just looks like a slab of salami/raw meat on your bass, i guess cuz its so ugly it's cool? that texture is just plain ugly/weird too. I'd go Classic black on black. I always thought of getting a black/red/black 3 ply pickguard if i wanted a little color & to get that red pintripe effect around the PG. butyou do you, gl on Your choice HNY!in 2020!I got a FGN P-Bass and replaced the neck with a CS jazz neck.
