I know someone who has said that, since the rebels are supported by all the usual suspects (US, UK, NATO, etc.), therefore Gadaffi must be the real good guy in this story.

Since the word was that yesterday a Libyan convoy made it to Agadez in Niger, I thought it would be cool to post some Tuareg guitar music. If these dudes had a bassist, they would really be cool!

That is as political as it is possible to get here.
The point being, that my "friend" (really just an acquaintance), like many other people, tends to draw far too broad conclusions from very little evidence.
Oh I wasn't even thinking that deep Doc. I know some folks who are so brainwashed by the media, + trendy conspiracies that they run with the whole "enemy of my enemy is my friend thing" with the US gov't being the "enemy."

That manmade river is pretty interesting, and the water cannot be replenished because once the Ice Age ended, the rain patterns changed, and over five thousand or so years, the Sahara emerged. I'm sure you know that you can go deep into the desert and still find rock paintings and carvings that show that the area looked more like the national parks in Kenya than a desert almost until the beginning of history. Heck, there were still hippopatami in Egypt during the time of the Pharoahs.
