blocks vs. dots

hey yall. what do you prefer? and why? i want to get a bass with blocks just because it looks classic. but is it worth payin the extra bread for it? ive only had basses with dots and hell, they dont change tone!! but i cant deny blocks look better to me!!

Have dots & ovals, wouldn't mind blocks. In fact, might go to blocks w/ my next bass (Possibly will get a Geddy). Maple and black blocks is classy.

have dots, want nothing. i like fretboard to be simple and homogenic. dots are the classic vintage looking (that i love on old fenders) and blocks have too much contrast for me.. (exception can be for example combination of cream pearloid and maple..)

4 out of my 5 basses have dots. Perfectly practical and stupid. Naked looks sleek, and blocks are DEAD SEXY.

I have dots on my fender, but blocks would look really cool.

I like blocks on maple fretboards more than rosewood.

Side dots. Don't mind them on the front, but hate blocks (unless they are a made of a contrasting wood).

Blocks or nothing. Blocks for Fender style basses, or anything without a natural finish. Natural finish basses deserve the beauty of having nothing on the fretboard

The only thing I like blocks on are natural ash with maple board J-Basses.

I'm for large black dots on maple, just like my Tribute L2K. Very easy to see under any kind of lighting, with a satin finish fb. I'm not into gratuitous decoration.

I just bought a Sadowsky UV metro with white blocks on a maple neck and trans white finish. I actually like the dots more on maple, but I couldn't get the UV neck without the blocks and binding.

I prefer nothing at all other than frets. I love the look of a clean neck. I don't even like side dots hanging around!

Blocks on Fenders or J style basses, Sadowsky, Lakland, etc...
Nothing on most modern bass designs, having said that... there are some modern designs that work really well.

For example, Fodera emporers with multi colored mother-of-pearl blocks. and mac ebony top F bass with mac ebony blocks.
