Blown Speaker in my Ashdown. Can't recone, only replace. Suggestions?

It's a chemistry with speakers and cabinets. I once had an old Sunn cabinet with just one fifteen inch speaker that sounded great until someone blew my speaker after so many years. I had a replacment speaker proffesionally installed at a well known music shop. And after that it sounded like crap...........I ended up selling the cabinet.
