There are some great contemporary Blues men on the scene, like Robert Cray, Keb Mo, and Kenny Neal. But be sure you listen to the legends that inspired them. Like Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, BB King, Albert King, Albert Collins, Hound Dog Taylor, and Lightnin Hopkins.

If you know Clapton, then you might already know Johh Mayall(worth checking out if you dont). Other names/bands I'd recommend would be :

Paul Butterfield, Taj Mahal, Johnny Winter, Freddy King, Ten Years After, Peter Green, Roomful of Blues, and Alexis Korner.

Jimi Hendrix - Blues is my all time favorite blues cd.

As for other blues artists... T-Model Ford, R.L. Burnside, The Blues Brothers, and there are tons more but this should be good fer now.
