Bob Babbitt RIP

Condolences to his family. Saying he'll be missed is a huge understatement.

As I get older, death in and of itself, does not sadden me so much because I know it is inevitable. Instead, I am happy for the very successful life that Bob Babbitt was blessed to have lived. To be second only to James Jamerson is a monstrous achievement, to have gone on and have the kind of long career that Jamerson did not have is icing on an already great cake.

To top it off, he seemed like a really nice man to boot! I am going to download Sorpio today and finally learn Mr. Babbitt's solo!

We are very sorry to announce that Bob passed away this morning. He will be sadly missed by all of us and our deepest condolences go out to his family. Through his music, Bob will always be with us though.

EDIT: I saw the forums post on his site. That's terrible. RIP Bob. I was listening to some of his work this morning with Jim Croce.
