Double Bass Bobelock Bass Bag Question

I got this recently and generally love it. It is super thick and the handles are really over built, which is great.
My only concern is the spot where the retracted end pin ( with a rubber tip) meets the zipper. The bag is very snug and I'm concerned that over time from taking the bag on and off (and travel) that the zipper may be damaged. I'm thinking about putting a small piece of foam where the end pin contacts the zipper to distribute the weight and stress more evenly on the zipper area. Or should I just leave room for the end pin to stick out with the zippers snug against it?
Anyone have this concern with this bag? A solution?
Thanks!

I would just have the two zipper handles meet at the end pin. I have a bag that either has a missing handle or a poor design, forcing the end pin to always be inside the bag. It’s punching through at this point. I think you always want the tip exposed rather than support the bass on the bag material/zipper. And you obviously can’t use a wheel without it sticking out.

Thanks man!

I've been using a Bobelock for about a dozen years with zero issues. It is my favorite, mainly because the handles locations fit my body dimensions perfect.

I use one zipper for the left and one for the right side of the endpin.

If you are really worried about it opening so big that your bass moves, go to any backpacking / camping store and find their repair person. For about $20 they will sew a couple of big velcro patches next to each zipper ending spot; problem solved. Backpack repair shops are incredibly useful for all gig bag repairs like handles and replacing zippers. More importantly, they get you out of bass nerdville for a bit.

This is how it's done. Just bring each zipper pull down to the endpin. I'm on my third and I've NEVER had any issues with the pulls backing out. It's a well made zipper.
Weren't Mooradians built like this, too?

You can also remove the end pin, if you feel you must fully zip the bag. I always did that anyway if I knew I was going to use my wheel. Now I use the RobPin, which comes out either way.
True, but 100s of folks visit me looking for their missing endpin parts every year, universally caused by taking them out.
