Bobe's 9 String Fretless

Phil,

You did a pretty good job on those floors too... Maybe I'm seeing things, but it looks like they're wide enough for caps if you run out of timber...

lol It took two complete full-time weeks to install those and the wife got permanent wrist damage from knocking all those boards in. Now, THAT was a pain in the ass but oh so worth it! They're engineered floorboards though, 16mm's of cheap hardwood with a 3mm layer of Oak, so way too thin for tops but I did think of using a pack for a nice workbench top though :)

Since I am in a period of high customer orders, I can't spend as much time as I want.

BUTTT.

I did have about 3 hours last night with my new baby.

as I stated above really nice and light. My back is loving it.

Nice and Balanced. I don't feel the need to shift the bass when I wear a strap.

The neck is nice and thin. Makes getting around nice and easy. There is just enough radius for comfort but doesn't make it thick like a baseball bat.

I tried recording last night with it and it was a breeze. I really didn't have to alter my limited technique to play this.

I recorded directly into a MOTU 828 into Digital Performer. No effects, all dry and clean. I got a nice sounded low C#. It didn't over power the rest of the notes.

So that is it for now. I am trying to get some basic stuff down to post so people can get a good sound of Phil's build and less of my technique :D

thanks to talkbass. The greatest site ever. If there was no talkbass I would have never met Phil or had this bass made for me.
