Bogus Website: www.guitarcentro.com?

Disclaimer: I am not sure if this website is a fake at the current stage. Please kindly offer any relevant information, especially if you have successfully bought something from Fender Headstock Waterslide Decals - Guitar Centro.

Here's the story.

I've placed an order for a waterslide on that site (again, Fender Headstock Waterslide Decals - Guitar Centro) a couple of weeks ago but received no nothing so far. I have sent several emails (the first dated Mar 22!) asking for a track number, and got zero reply after a long wait.

Has any one actually made a successful deal on that site? Or can you tell if it is a fake online store?

Please help...

I've never heard of them but I looked up who registered the website (Invalid Link Removed). Here's their contact info:

IFfer, Editor
IF fer
4 rue Louis Notari
Monaco, 980000
Montserrat
+64.3545665113
[email protected]

The contact email is a free yahoo.com address. If you look up the street address on Google Maps it shows a building with a sign that says Surete Publique (Public Safety) across from a Police station. I don't know if a Public Safety Building is the same thing in Monaco, but in the US it's a country jail.

You could try calling them at +64.3545665113

You can get really good quality decals from that page which I can not link here (They say they do not want to be linked) "old fret" (you know the rest). They do a really good job and they are trustworthy.
I have bought two sets so far, but I have not used them yet, because I never got around re-finishing the headstock of my basses.

Resurrecting to add that I ordered a jazz bass decal for a refin (chill, it's a real fender jazz). Like the post above they sent it along with a bunch of others for "practice". Some looked ok but the two JB decals were poor quality. The "Fender" was blurry, like a copy of a copy, and the "Trade Mark" was not centered properly. They offer a 30 day refund. I tried to contact through their website and each time I received an auto email saying the request was submitted properly but they never followed up. Tried to contact through paypal, again nothing. Filed paypal dispute, they didn't respond, I got a paypal refund.

Don't waste your time with "guitarcentro". Their site says they have several stores in FL but they don't. They mail USPS from CA as Import Plus Consortium.

Ordered from here Invalid Link Removed same price with nice results.

GUITARCENTRO.COM IS A SCAMMER SITE. They are shipped out of a po box in Santa Ana, CA. I live in another state.
I bought two decals last week and received them on Monday this week. I had a feeling that the site was bad. I immediately felt like the credit card form was off. The decals are pixelated garbage.
I emailed guitarcentro back and told them I want a full refund, or I would call my credit card company to dispute the charge. I got no response.
On Friday, some one tried to pay for $90 of food using my credit card number at Benihana in Anaheim. just a few miles from Santa Ana. I rarely use that card. I KNOW it was this dirtbag. He obviously had a card made with my cc info saved onto the mag strip. Luckily my credit card company rejected the charge.

Can you give me more details on how to find "Old Fret"? I just blew $12 at Guitar Centro and then had to block my credit card (after several random scam attempts to use it in Santa Ana!) So, I'm not having a good week so far. Your assistance in contacting the decal-friendly business you know as "Old Fret" would be greatly appreciated. :)

Well, I imagine making waterslide decals is a way to pass the time, if you're locked up in the local hoosegow. I wonder... did they try to cheat at chemin-de-fer in the casino....?:whistle:

It's defunct

SCAMMER SITE UPDATE!!!
"If only I had searched this topic in the forum first..."
(Yea, they got me too.... :( )

Website: www.GuitarCentro.com

DBA 2: GUITAR CENTRO
3 Rue De l’Atlas
Paris 75019

Note: Both addresses are fraudulent, and both 714 (Santa Ana, California) phone numbers are currently owned by local SA residents (not Los Angeles). [email protected] is simply an email that feeds an auto-responder! It is directly linked to successfully completed transactions that have processed through the online shopping cart. First, you'll receive an auto-response email after your purchase. A few minutes later you will receive an auto-response email "invoice" that your order is "being processed". loll... When they charge your Credit Card, the transaction is always listed as WWW.MCNBUSA.COM. You will never directly connect with anyone related to this business. Their email address is only meant for completing transactions. By the way...

Since www.MCNBUSA.com is a global leader in the rapidly expanding health and wellness industry. I'm pretty sure they're not currently selling Fender head-stock decals in Santa Ana, CA, on the side...

IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you don't take steps to block your credit card, you might start to see random purchases from the Southern California area (as I and many others have, over the past 10 years).

Live and Learn,
Tim
