I had to go back and watch that again after getting home from the movie. Day-yum, what a performer he was...

For accuracy's sake (just like the movie) allow me to re-edit here my original comment:

- Even the placement of a popular soft drink & water on Freddy's piano during "Live-Aid" was accurate!

I also can imagine that there was coke available at Live-Aid (for those who did not prefer Pepsi...)

And that sure was a Hella rawkin' performance they gave...

I couldn't agree with you more. It would be great to see him working on a decent straight role, assuming he could, given what you say. Many other comedians and comic actors have made that leap.

All of his work has been his comedies based on his characters right? If he got hired for a real acting gig like this and signed a contract for millions and millions of dollars, I don’t think he would’ve been on the set pulling shenanigans like it’s a Bruno or Borat movie.

Does he? I don’t really know. But he’s not an idiot. If he was bound by a contract to do a job, I think he would do it. Either way the guy who played Mercury did really well. He was super creepy and that was a little distracting at first but overall he was great.

People forget that Cohen played Thénardier in 2012's "Les Miserables" and did a good job opposite Helena Bonham Carter.
