Book on styles

I'm really interested in learning different styles since I find myself constantly changing what genre I listen to every few weeks. So what do you guys think of these books, anyone ever read them? I havent seen any of these books at my local Barnes and Noble

I have liebman's book, which has a good variety of popular styles. A decent chunk of examples, all notation,(can't recall any tab...but john may chime in himself) with only some of the examples on CD.

I'd also add Paul Westwood's Bass Bible to the list, especially if you want good world music examples , and focused "in the style of..." sections for the great style pioneers.

I really like Jon liebmans bass grooves. It has tab and all grooves are on cd.

+1s for Westwood's The Bass Bible as well as Jon Liebman's Bass Grooves and Sean Malone's The Dictionary of Bass Grooves .
I'd also like to recommend Tim Boomer's The Bassist's Bible:

Tim contacted a number of Pro Players (including me and Bob Babbitt, Harvey Brooks, Trae Pierce, Ken Okulolo to name a few) to research the material.
It's a great source book for quick solutions. There is no TAB, but it does come with 2 CDs and the examples aren't really lengthy so it should also help your reading.
Remember, it's perfectly legal to learn by listening to the Music and the time-honored tradition of taking licks and grooves off of recordings as well.

Oscar Stagnaro really knows his stuff so I'm sure his book is great. I'm generally not a fan of "how to play books" (just listen to the music!) but for some styles it can really help to see how everything fits together (and also to get some explanations from people who know what they're talking about).
