Just so. Two of his trilogies - Deptford and Cornish - are among my favorite books on the planet.
Read Depford first. Without that you don't have the context for a character that shows up in a couple of the Cornish books. And that aside Fifth Business is one of the best novels of the last fifty years. You like one better than the other, for recommendation purposes? Or any of his work for that matter? Got a lot of traveling coming in the fall and i'm going to need stuff to read, and i've never gotten around to him
That goes for you too Don...
Ha! Please add W.P. Kinsella to your mental list of beer and hockey.Thread Killer/Derail Warning!:
Yes. I went on a RD tear a few decades ago...see below.
Who knew that there were actual "Authors" in Canada? I thought they just made great Beer and invented Hockey.

Oh for sure, eh. It goes good with the beer.Well, I'm confused by this Wikipedia entry for Mr. Kinsella-
"...His work has often concerned baseball, First Nations people, and other Canadian issues."
***?! Baseball is a "Canadian issue"? Is this a Typo?
Thanks, Jeff.
"What's Bred In The Bone" is what got me hooked, even though it is #2 of the Cornish Trilogy.
Thanks gents! The Deptford trilogy is a touchstone book for me - I reread it every 5-10 years. Start there. You can't go wrong.![]()
