You said it! This thing is SO conservative and mild, what is it for? Is Bootsy going to start doing classical gigs or something?
Or at the very least if a fairly conventional body is used they should have pimped it with rhinestones or something and installing 4-5 pickups instead of merely covering it with some hack airbrush work.
Sorry but IMHO this is a big FAIL.
I don't think Warwick is going to sell a lot of these basses; prices on a standard Infinity go way past 3k. Maybe those are pics from a prototype..? If they would release it as a Rockbass those things would sell A LOT.

for bootsy its amazingly understated. this kinda looks like a half effort by wick to give bootsy an infinity with a paint job :/ weak sauce...but hey i guess it beats having everything you want looks wise built by Traben.
yeah i promise half of the people here responding are not Bootsy's age (58 i believe) and doing half the live stuff bootsy still does. lets face it we whine over 12 lb basses, who wants to be on the cusp of his 6th decade slinging a 3ft wooden star. as for pickups im sure its cool to have 5 if you need 5 but if you can do the same with 2 then why not?
imo this bass NEEDS rhinestones though!
its understandable that its not a star shaped bass. Warwick is pretty conservative about crazy custom body shapes,the only one that has a remotely custom design body shape is the stuart zender bass and thats all in the horns.
