What larger brother - does boss make a larger unit with built-in effects plus switching?

I only noticed because people were complaining somewhere on the interwebs for no good reason. I previously had a multfx unit with larger gaps so I got used to switching at the right time on bass the gap on the MS-3 is more then easily manageable once you are aware.
does anyone know of a unit like this which offers parallel blending between the loops?
for example, stomp button one and get a 50/50 blend of two or three of the loops, stomp two gives a different blend of the loops etc etc?

I do find it amusing that you can buy a modern laptop with more computing power than NASA had to plan the entire Saturn 5 moon launch with for a few hundred dollars more (and often less) than some of these new digital and MIDI effects controllers are going for.
The technology behind these devices is well understood and very cheap to implement. So why does something less technologically sophisticated than a clock radio command hundreds of dollars just because it's "designed for musicians." It's a matrix switch with a programmable preset capability. This stuff is old hat in the computer world.

The ES-5 and ES-8 Don't have built in effects they are simply pedal switchers + midi / amp controllers.
2 x MS-3 in series or parallel.
The old Boss GT-Pro had a few programmable Send/Return ports.
Nah adding a couple of these (or the Voodo Labs 6 loop version) is probably better then a second MS-3 Invalid Link Removed
I play bass and guitar and acoustic guitar in different setting, and have three Pedalboard and two multieffects. I hope this will replace them all.
Just tried it at home a few days and i like it. Big test tomorrow with band.
Octaver is Ok If you put it first in line. Can't figure out the Envelope wah thing on it. But maybe some more tweeking wil do it. Gotta love Boss for their Tone control letting me do my setting on computer real time.

In my opinion, I would definitely keep an analog octaver. Just like Harvard Ramses said, it works ok at the beginning of the chain, but I've heard better octavers. It's a great unit though!
Depends on how much you use it I think. My set up will be a combo guitar/bass board and i want to keep it small.
Straight from rehersal with band right now and I find that the Ms-3 cover all I need. Just gotta tweek things right. I don't use the octaver much. But when I do I want whats sounds best in my ears. So i'm keeping the Mxr octave.
AS for now my set up will be Tu3, ms3, Mxr compressor Mxr preamp. And with EHx SoulFood in loop1 and Mxr octaver in loop2
hmm taking it one step at the time ;-) New stuff allways scares me. Specially things that seems too good to be true.
I've allways had a tuner with me so never take chance to go without one.

Hmm yeah, as far as octaves, I have one, but I'd like to have another one that is programmable, hence a part of my interest in the MS-3. I would like to not have to keep tweaking the dials on my Octavius, but I find I have need for four sounds, which are roughly: 35% 8vb / 65% dry (filling out the bottom); 50 dry / 50 8va (12-string sim); 30 8vb / 40 dry / 30 8va (organ-y sounding); and 100 8va (teaching things to guitarists).
The harmonist is pretty reasonable and you might get some of those sounds out of it well, but the octave down certainly isn't as good as a real one
Hmm, that is one I hadn't looked into before. It is interesting. But, I can get all the voices I need from my existing octaver. But neither it nor the harmonist have stored memories. I'd like to get instant accessibility, without the expense or weight of four octave/harmony pedals.
Hey everybody, does the Ms-3 offer an option for a clean blend, or do you have to keep one loop open (maybe create a jumper with a cable?) and blend that in?
There isn't a option for one complete clean blend for the whole unit, keeping one loop open or going straight through won't do anything either as all the effects run in series.
Having said that most of the effects have a clean blend option of there own which does the job well enough for me (notably the compressors don't but everything else i can think of does). In particular all the "Guitar" drive sounds have a blend (D.Level) and bottom function so some of them work well on bass, I prefer the guitar drives to the bass ones.
