Can someone provide a link to some BF-2 sound samples? Bass preferred, but will listen to guitar or keys too. Also, any good descriptions of the sound? How does it compare to something like an EH electric mistress?

Boss Bf-2 Sound Samples?

Man I love this place... I browsed Usenet earlier this morning, it's so nice to come here and calm down!
I have the BF-3 which is more versatile if you want more experimental sounds. But I wish the BF-2 & BF-3 were more warm sounding. They are too metallic sounding which is fine at times, but there is no way to get a less cold feeling from them. I know analogman has a mod for the BF-2 to give it more warmth, but I am not sure about the BF-3.

Overall, I like the sound, but I may look into the analogman mod after I get one. For the prices good used units sell for, the BF-2 is a real bargain.

That's what I've noticed - I keep reading (here, I mean) that they're the greatest-thing, but I see'em show up pretty regularly on used shelves for... I dunno - was I seeing sixty bucks US or something?BFunk said:
Nifty's samples reminded me of how cool those things can sound. I remember back in the old-days (late 70's) I'd set my Ross for no modulation, and tune it in for the song/key I was in.

Just to not start another thread about the BF-2/3, can someone tell me how to get Tool-ish and Alice in Chains-ish sounds with a BF-3? Recently invested in one

The reason why they're so plentiful is because they were Boss units--mass produced and sold in large quantities pretty much everywhere. This is why you can get something just as good as most boutique effects for hundreds cheaper--the wonders of mass production!
I don't have mine with me right now, maybe I can get some clips when I go home for Thanksgiving.

Justin uses a BF2 but alot of his sound is from the Wal. I personally think the BR2 sounds metallic as well...
I picked up an old DOD fx72B bass flanger years ago and it is the deepest, warmest flange I have ever played....keeps the bottom end in tact as well....
I am using it in the opening riff of this video....you can hear it...very nice sound...
