Sorry if this question has been answered, but is there any way you can use/ change the IRs when not using an internal amp? I use my SLO through a loop, but want to experiment with the internal IRs with the SLO pre. Alternatively, any one know if I can export the Core's IRs so I can use them in the SLO IR output selection?
With the output mode set to "recording", you can change the IRs independent from the amp blocks.
And you can turn off the amp block and still use the IR block.

This applies for the "big" GT-1000, but should be the same for the core.

Unfortunately, there is no way to export the internal IRs.

Did they fix this? I couldn't get this working on the Core, turning off the amp block causes it to bypass the cab block.

The only way I found of getting around it was to put an active amp block in a parallel divider but just set the level of the path with the amp block to 0. Thinking about it you could probably have just turned the amp block level to 0 and turned up the Direct?

Don't have a Core anymore to try it?

Messing with the core last night I could only get the IRs to work by using the internal amp sims. I havnt tried the amp in a block trick, but its worth a go.

To that end, what happened to the Boss IR loader? I cant find it anywhere on the boss website. I have the manual on my computer, so apparently it did exist, but I cant find it anywhere... Did it get absorbed into the Tone Studio App?

It looks like the IR loader did get absorbed into the greater application:

I got some updating to do later!

My one is there. It's called Bass Liveset v2.1 - a collection of 22 [basic] clean, effect, and drive patches. It's got 405 downloads which has surprised me a lot. A lot bass players out there using the GTCore. I'm working on a 50 patch mega Liveset.

Turns out that update also added "direct access to Tone Exchange".
Not a lot of bass stuff for Core yet, but that could change now, eh?

I think I downloaded your set at one point, so someone else must have downloaded it 404 times ;)

An update that no one asked for: I was able to use my core as a preamp for my upright bass using the realist copperhead pickup. I used the parametric eq to get a good baseline, then the graphic to fine tune as needed. Even assigned various important frequencies to the knobs for easy adjustment. Finished it out with an acoustic IR to make it sound better. Overall, I am pretty pleased with how it went. It’s nice to not have to buy a new preamp if I don’t need one.

Nice! Assigning important frequencies to the rotaries is something that makes the Core really practical. With this setup it would require a lot of menu diving to adjust things on the fly (stage/rehearsal room). If only we could have a few sets of these assignments, for example if you would use the Core for different instruments/applications...

On the new Core I would like a slightly smaller screen in height (but with a better/smarter use of the available pixels) and an additional row of 5 rotaries above the screen : ) I know I know, that's not gonna happen!

It would be nice if the knob assigns could be patch dependent. I love having the frequencies assigned on the upright patch, but like distortion and amp frequencies selected on other patches. That said, it’s honestly not much of a problem jumping into the patch settings to adjust the drive as needed before the performance since once the show starts it’s RARE that I change any settings.

Just bought one basically mint condition used, for about half the price of a new one.

Exited to see how many of my single units in my amp-less setup it will be able to replace.

Should have it by the end of the week.

Time to go menu diving! :hyper:

The thing that sold me with this unit over other somewhat similar priced multi effects on the market, was its parallel effects path processing flexibility, and up to 3 parallel signal paths.

0.7 to 1.1 milliseconds apparently. Less than what I can hear or perceive. Feels very fast, responsive and touch sensitive, imo.
That's impressive.

Same as my current preamp amp emulator/cab simulator.

I am getting more and more exited about this buy.

I think I might have hit the head of the nail there.

But we'll see.

If it turns out not to be at least as great sounding as my current single pedal amp-less setup, I should easily be able to sell it again without loosing any money.

If it does though, I foresee me selling off a lot of my single pedals.

How are the flanger and 4 stage phaser sounds?

It doesn't suit everyone, but if you bought second for a good price, no reason why you can't get your money back.

I had about 20 pedals and have nearly sold all of them, which paid for the GTCore.

Two Flangers, one being a Bass Flanger. The Prime Phaser goes up to 24 Stages.

Something I like about the modulation and time based effects is the High/Low Damp and HPF/LPF. Very useful for targeting what frequencies you wanna affect.

Same here. I trie the Kemper, the Quad Cortex, Two Notes Opus & CabM+. None of them really "followed" my playing to my liking (and I am not a technical fast player). None of this whatsoever with the GT1000 Core.

I will start this out by saying I love the core, but gas has be looking at the cores mortal enemy: the hx stomp.

For those of you who have tried both, what are the stomps shortcoming? I’m really interested in whether I can plug in two instruments, how flexible the eq blocks (can I go through more frequencies vs the cores set frequencies), drive sounds, and ease of use.

Any insights in 2025 would be great.

The Boss is much more flexible when it comes to parallel routing and routing in general, it also have much more DPS power, and allows more effects per patch, on paper the Boss is a bit higher sound quality too, however the Line 6 wins when it comes to versatility in terms of effect, different variations of effects and amps to chose from, where the Boss honestly is a bit limited.
