Nice deal Barry ;-) We have this thing called the 'Australia Tax' which applies to everything imported because we're at the arse end of the universe, so it's a bit pricier here

Does anyone have issues with Tone Studio locking up when you are looking at an effect with a bunch of LFOs assigned to it?
I used the assign array to turn my PEQ into a modulation pedal, and now every time I try to adjust that effect from Tone Studio the program locks up and I have to shut it down.
Is this just a quirk I have to live with or is there something one of y'all have done to stabilize the program?
No shame in improving your rig. To each their own. Everyone’s needs & situation is different. Enjoy the Helix.Hey.
As you know, I'm a proud user of a gt1b.
Tonight a friend come to my house with his Helix LT.
Ok.
Gt1b sounds good but Helix it's great.
Seriously.
I put a lot a work on my go to patch on my gt1b.
Within 15 minutes I was able to replicate and even get a better sounding patch with helix.
I dont know but I'm selling my gt1b I'm sorry. It's a great device but helix it's better.
Have a nice day everyone!
I guess the fact that it's $1,200 vs $200 doesn't matter to you.Hey.

I mean I can get a good sounding emulation of my gt1b...but helix it's better...I dont know how to explain it...its not about flexibility...its about the sound.. it sounds great...I actually did an a/b test...dont get me wrong gt1b it's a great device but helix it's outstanding.I guess the fact that it's $1,200 vs $200 doesn't matter to you.
Careful jumping to the Helix before trying the gt1000 or a quad cortex. Helix tech is old. First welcome, but I am not sure I understand the confusion. How would you have let the rest of the band hear you when you used a guitar floorboard? It should be no different for bass. For me, I play only at church on a silent stage so anything I bring goes through an XLR to FOH then returns to stage via the Aviom IEM mixers. I suppose if you do not have an IEM system for the band then you would just send to an amp on stage. For a mixed system, put a DI between the Boss and your amp to send a signal to FOH.New Bass player here, coming from extensive guitar background....I have used guitar floor pedal modelers for years and prefer this flexibility of tone. This brings me to check out the GT-1B. What are people using to actually monitor their GT-1B on stage? I typically use in-ears...but then often times the band will want to hear bass also, regardless of whether we have a PA with monitoring happening, etc.. Anyway just wondering how people are using this or other modelers on stage with or without some kind of lightweight amp, etc..

I use an amp on stage. A quilter BB800 through a BFM Jack 210 usually. Most of our sound guys prefer some stage volume, though, so YMMV.In answer to one person, I was the only person using IEM and I had to manage it through my own rack which I expect to do now too. I still had to have my guitar playing through an amp and cab on stage for the rest of the band to hear me as they never wanted to bother with setting up proper monitoring. A silent stage with everyone together on iem would be a dream luxury for me hehe
So you guys using GT-1B tend to simply plug into PA and let the band hear you through stage monitors? Or do you run through some kind of amp/cab on stage and if so what do you use? In the guitar realm a lot of guys try to use full range stage monitor for their guitar modeled sound, though I specifically chose not to before because I personally liked the sound of my guitar more when I ran it through a 20/20 tube amp and through an actual guitar cab, but that was my personal decision. But anyway bass is different animal in some ways so I am wondering what you guys do. Thanks
