Was looking for an interface to start using my computer and came across this gadget. I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on what could very well be my next toy but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask for advice. Anybody mind sharing?

BOSS GT-1B???? Good or bad? Why or why not?

I had one, but sold it. Mom od the effects ranges from usable to very good, except for the detune effect (which I need, so that's why I resold it). Worked well as an interface too. Chez and reliable. If you don't need the detune effect, you can go for it.
I have been using mine at gigs for about 18 months. I like it. I haven't changed much, settings wise, since the first month or so, and probably spend about 80% of the time in four or five patches. I like the fact that it's made of metal and has a good tuner. For the price, I'd recommend it. Especially since the current situation has allowed many of us more time to tweak stuff. Have fun...
I got one in a negotiation a few days ago. Still learning how to use properly but for the moment I'm impressed. It's not in the same league as the Helix LT I had but for the $ it's a great deal.

Don't know for sure but while I was researching this gadget I think I remember seeing a long list of patches for it on the BOSS website (free downloads). To be honest, it is what caught my attention. I was really impressed. Maybe try there but don't shoot me if you don't find what you want. Hope I have been of some help. Good luck.
I was confused for the first little bit but all that cleared up when I hooked it to computer via USB. I've made a few patches and replaced the first fifteen (via setlists) with stuff I found useful or fun, so now i only have to tap the pedal a few times to get where I want.
I like the double press tuner/bypass - that's handy.
I also like the generic guitar clean, guitar crunch and guitar OD to noodle on the SG. Sounds good!

If I only considered three basic amp/cab/overdrive/clean patches, the tuner, the looper and the ability to mix in music from my PC, the pedal would already be worth it. Add in that it has a volume/wah pedal and I think it's a very good value. Using only the features I mention in this paragraph, I don't find it overly complicated.
If I were to play out, I would set up the songs in our list by name and order and overwrite the first X number of patches. Then I would be well prepared in advance with Motown, P-Funk, Geddy, JPJ, Chancellor and Lemmy all in one set without twisting a knob.

Really good! I sold my other pedals since I got my multifx. So handy. Sounds good. I use it for recording, did a lot of that this year and no one ever complain. Im using it for rehearsal and live of course! It gets anything will I ever need i guess.. Helix Lt it's great but it's a "guitar player multifx" too and it cost much much more but it doesn't soub much better than gt1b.
Only thing I miss is connectivity (xlr, midi, fx loop, that kind of stuff) but for now I never need anything of that.
You can assign anything to any button (even expression pedal). Even you can add another switch for more flexibility, but trust me you will not need more in most cases.
