Boss katana bass 110 and 210

I have the 210 and I played a gig/fundraiser at a high school this morning and it had no problem keeping up with a loud drummer and a guitar player using a Boss Nextone 80 watt Artist 112 combo.And this was in a high school auditorium and i had volume to spare.I ve had this a few weeks and so far I really like it.
It does weigh a few lbs more than comparable 210 class d combos but those amps dont have the bottom end punch and world class Boss effects that the Katana 210 does.Go to the Andertons video where they compare the Bosss Katana 110 to the Fender 100 112 Rumble and tell me what you think.
Yes i prefer the Katana over the Rumble, even if i dont use effects that much. But i like the sound better.
I must say, i am french and these two guys are little hard to understand for me !!! Especially the right one, but it is ok, they play very well! So i order the 210. thanks!

Mine was just delivered today. Not a light weight amp but it is very loud. I think it's louder than a fender rumble 800 I use to have. I also think the controls are easier to dial in than the Rumble. The class AB has a smoother sound too both soft and loud volume. Very happy with this purchase.
All right glad to hear it.So far im really liking my 210 combo and I think it gets plenty loud and has a unique tone that most class d amps lack.Play on!
Is there anybody else on here that still owns or used to own a class d bass amp that owns a Katana Bass amp now that thinks that the lower wattage class ab Katana has no problem keeping up or comparing to other 210 class d combos.It would be interesting to hear from you pro or con.
I'll be A/Bing a katana 210 vs my rumble 100 sometime this week so long as my local store's shipment arrives. I can see if they have a rumble 500 to compare it against.
Still haven't got their shipment :/ They thought it would be with their shipment of Katana 50/100's, then maybe a Roland shipment, but still no katana basses. I'm practically dying of anticipation at this point. I left my number so hopefully they'll call me once they get them in.
Wow What music store is that.Sweetwater has had them over a month now and the Sam Ash,Guitar Centers/Musicians Friend the same here in Ohio.
I just received a 110 yesterday. Previous amps have been Rumble 100 (sold a while ago) and a GK MB110 (still have - looking to sell most likely?).
My goals for the getting the Katana 110:

There are some interesting "deep dive" tools available though the Boss Tone Studio app as well - just taking a look at these:
I will be getting the Bluetooth adapter when available in order to use the iPad app - hard to find right now. I do wish this capability had been built in perhaps.
Seems great so far for my kind of playing! It pretty much checks every box for me. Curious to hear from others on their experiences!
My goals for the getting the Katana 110:
- Good sounding practice amp for home
- Playing at church, special events, musicals etc as my own monitor while using DI to FOH
- Loud enough to provide some moderate stage volume support when needed
- Boss effects "hard wired" rather than bringing multi-effects or pedalboard with associated cables etc.
- Simple connection - one cable, power cord, done!
Initial impressions - but have not played out with it as yet:
- To me - it doesn't feel "gimmicky" in any sense - very solid build, controls are logical and and work well either through the computer or using the panel knobs directly. I actually like that it doesn't have a built in drum machine, tuner, looper etc... those functions are better handled other ways IMHO.
- The sound is great out of the box with minimal adjustments - the effects stay out of the way if you don't need them, and I like that it doesn't have an LCD screen or anything - feels simpler when you want it that way. All available functions seem included strictly for tone shaping - no extra "features" as I said.
- Class AB amp tone and feel seem very good to me - although I don't have a great deal of experience with many different amps beyond the Rumble 100 and GK 110.
- The 1 watt setting is nice for home practice - and a "standby" for use with headphones or recording.
- Effects are all Boss obviously - they work for me and the situations I am involved in as a player. I likely won't use all of them, but interesting to try out at times. I like that they are "out of the way" when not needed.
There are some interesting "deep dive" tools available though the Boss Tone Studio app as well - just taking a look at these:
- Different HPF and LPF options available with the BLEND control - haven't worked these out yet.
- Different "air feel" options for the headphone/line output - a nice touch I think.

I played through a new Katana 210 version at GC today. With everything set flat except boosting some upper mids and treble, I thought it sounded great and ballsy. But, with a stock Squire Jazz the headroom seems and is low. It broke up way too early and at a less than typical club gig volume level. No matter how I set the gain, volume, or master I couldn't get it to stop getting dirty or anywhere close to the volume level I can get with my TC BG250 1x12. I don't know if the problem is in the preamp gain structure, the speakers, or power section weakness. I figured with 2 speakers it would be less prone to breaking up than the TC single 12. I tested it with comp, distortion, and effects off. My instincts say the speakers are weak. Finally, I wasn't blasting the volume to test for breakup; it got to breakup level quickly with average volume. This wouldn't work for me as a gigging combo. Too bad, as it sounds good. I played through the Fender Stage 800 2x10, and found no issues with headroom as it has more power and beefy speakers.

You have to make sure the master is not turned up beyond what you have the gain and volume set because it will distort and is designed to do so.I play a Deluxe Active Precision[18 volt preamp] thru mine with a pretty hot signal into the amp and get pretty loud before anything starts farting out.And the speakers sound good and can take quite a lot as I played a gig with a loud drummer and the guitar player using a Boss Nextone Artist[80 watts] and I had no problem keeping up with no monitor support and actually had some volume to spare.
I purchased one and had the same issue, and I wasn't the only person. It seems to be ad hoc but all the exact same thing. If you run into one with this issue, it's completely obvious that something isn't right.
