Only last week, someone asked the same question.
From memory, the head is 500 W PEAK, which is roughly 250 W RMS, into 4 Ohms. Again from memory, the matching cabinets are 8 Ohms. So, with only one cabinet, you would achieve 250 W PEAK, which is 125 W RMS.
I strongly suggest you search these fora because, as said, this is not a new question.
As for whether it’s a ‘good’ head, I cannot help you because I’ve never used one.

I haven't tried it either, but I've read many reviews saying it's super loud, and I saw absolutely no real life report that say it's lacking power.
Doubling the power only add +3 decibels, and when the power is X4, the loudness is +6 db.
125W is only -6 decibels less than 500W, it can still be very loud with a good cab.
My problem with the Katana head is not the lack of power, it's the fact that it's prone to quick obsolescence and potentially a shorter life span.
@gtirard I agree. What I meant is, a newbie might see it as a 500W amp, because it is advertised a Peak power into a 4 Ohms cab. But in reality into a single (matching) 8 Ohm cab it is actually 125W RMS, which is very different. Someone wanting/needing a true 500W RMS set-up is going to find the Katana likely won't meet their needs. Whether 125W RMS is enough depends on a person't needs - and 125W RMS ain't the same as 500W Peak when you don't properly understand spec's. Someone new to equipment might well be very misled when they see the magical 500W.

I haven't gigged with one, but I have tried one. It was a fairly controlled setting - no drummer, no guitar player(s), nobody else. Just me playing a bass through it. I was able to dial up a decent setting pretty quickly and volume seemed sufficient through a 210 cabinet. Wouldn't be my first choice, but it will certainly get the job done.
